WAITING ON WEDNESDAY

WAITING ON WEDNESDAY

Beauty by Nancy Ohlin
(May 7th 2013)

Looks to kill for...

Ana is nothing like her glamorous mother, Queen Veda, whose hair is black as ravens and whose lips are red as roses. Alas, Queen Veda loathes anyone whose beauty dares to rival her own—including her daughter.

And despite Ana’s attempts to be plain to earn her mother’s affection, she’s sent away to the kingdom’s exclusive boarding school.

At the Academy, Ana is devastated when her only friend abandons her for the popular girls. Isolated and alone, Ana resolves to look like a true princess to earn the acceptance she desires.

But when she uncovers the dangerous secret that makes all of the girls at the Academy so gorgeous, just how far will Ana go to fit in?

WAITING ON WEDNESDAY

WAITING ON WEDNESDAY

Revolution 19 by Gregg Rosenblum
(January 8th 2013)

Twenty years ago, the robots designed to fight our wars abandoned the battlefields. Then they turned their weapons on us.

Nick, Kevin, and Cass have spent their whole lives in a community in the wilderness, hiding out from the robots that have enslaved mankind. But when the bots discover their location, they barely make it out alive — only to discover that their home has been destroyed and everyone killed or captured. Now, the siblings must risk everything to save the only people they have left in the world.

This reminds me a lot of Terminator! More specifically, the short lived television show The Sarah Connor Chronicles. (I will never ever forgive Fox for cancelling it so soon). Then again all robot-looking-like-people things reming me of TSCC. I can't help it, I love it so much.

What are you (im)patiently waiting for? Link me up!

Waiting on Wednesday ~

WAITING ON WEDNESDAY

(September 8th 2012)

Synopsis An Irish heritage, Celtic myth, and deadly beauty

In eighth grade, Brianna did something so dreadful she was suspended and homeschooled. No one could explain what happened that night . . . except Brianna's Irish grandmother, who gave her a silver charm bracelet and told her to wear it until she turned seventeen. Ever since she slipped it on, Brianna has felt like she's invisible. People stare right past her as if she doesn't exist. And that includes Blake Williams, the one boy she can't resist.

But everything changes in one frozen, silver moment when Blake sees her--and recognizes what she's been hiding. Brianna is descended from Danu, the legendary Bandia of Celtic myth. Yet before she can fully understand who or what she is, Brianna accidentally binds her soul to Blake--whose tribe has spent the last thousand years hunting Danu's descendants to protect humanity.

Title: What's Left of Me
Author: Kat Zhang
Release Date: September 8th 2012
NEVER LET ME GO meets HIS DARK MATERIALS in a beautiful, haunting YA debut, the first book in The Hybrid Trilogy.
Eva and Addie live in a world where everyone is born with two souls, but where only the dominant one is allowed to survive childhood. Fifteen years old, and closer even than twins, the girls are keeping Eva, the ‘second soul’, a secret. They know that it’s forbidden to be hybrid, but how could they ever be apart?
When a dramatic event reveals what really happens to hybrids if they are discovered, Eva and Addie face a dangerous fight for survival, neither wanting to be the one left behind…

Honestly, it had me at NEVER LET ME GO. It's one of my favorite novels AND movies. Always makes me cry my eyes out. Then there's the eerie cover that drew me in even before I read what the book was going to be about. How freaky does it look, huh!? The story sounds equally captivating. How creepy would it be to be born one body with two souls and only one gets to live? Freaky. I can't wait for this book!
